On The Inside of Google PageRank

Google PageRank has been the focus of many SEO experts, thinking it is the end all, most important factor in search engine results. Is it really that valuable? Should it be the only factor we are concerned with?

Here are some important points to remember regarding PageRank:

· PageRank compares the importance of one web page over another.

· PageRank is used to determine ranking in search results, along with many other factors.

· Having a high PageRank is no guarantee of a high organic search result for any particular term.

· The words used in your anchor text of a link can be more important than whether the link is found on a high PageRank page.

· To find the most important pages to link to for relevant links do a search and see what Google rises to the top of the search. Google will tell you what pages are most relevant for the words you want to rank high for.

Danny Sullivan has an excellent post that answers a lot of questions regarding PageRank. For a detailed look at what Google PageRank is, check it out.

One More Time: Content is King

No matter what you are trying to accomplish being online, if you are going to be successful you have to fully understand what the Internet is really all about. What are people actually doing in cyberspace?

Have you ever considered what the Internet would be like without the search engines? Would there even be an Internet? The search engines are the way we access everything that is online. Unless you have an actual cyberspace address to go to you are going to be using a search engine to find what you are looking for.

The search engines use content to return relevant results to searches. If the search engines find good, fresh content that is consistently updated, that content is what is going to come up at the top of the list.

Here are some tips to quality web content whether it is a website or a blog:

1. KISS – keep it simple, seriously
2. Use lists and bullets – this keeps your thoughts easy to follow
3. Don’t be afraid to be controversial, controversy creates interaction and interaction gets attention.
4. Remember your writing skills.
5. Don’t write to sell something. It’s about building relationships.
6. Offer information of value.
7. Pick a target audience and stick to it. Stay focused.
8. Keep your individuality. Be true to yourself.
9. Be consistent with fresh content.Be patient. The search engines will find you, but it won’t be overnight

Organic SEO Is A Necessary Part Of Your Online Marketing Plan

The purpose behind Search Engine Optimization has always been to increase sales for your business by qualifying business leads from Internet search engines. This is an accessable goal by almost any business, of any size. While SEO is a ton of work, to ignore it is to deny your business the opportunity for success in the long-term.

While local brick and mortar businesses rely on foot traffic and localized ad campaigns for fresh leads, an online presence can extend your possibilities with search engines that offer a plethora of local search features. By utilizing these properly local sales are bound to increase.

While brick and mortar ad campaigns are based on push marketing, a SEO search is pull marketing. The high quality of a lead that finds you through a search is gold. When someone finds you using your keywords, the chances are pretty good you've got a solid business lead.

Organic Search Engine results are viewed as authority referrals. People trust search engines, especially Google. They are seen as an authority regarding the organic referrals turned up by your keywords. Take advantage of that trust and build your business online with Organic Search Engine Optimization.

Is Blogging Worth The Time?

Blogging was originally developed as an online diary. One you could keep private if you wished, or you could share it with family and friends, or open it up to the entire online community if you wanted to really be an open book.

It didn't take long for the savy entreprenuer to recognize the value of sharing your deepest marketing thoughts with information starved wanna-bes. And the art of blogging grew from there.

Now blogging is a powerful part of online marketing. It takes less work than keeping fresh content on your website. Yes it takes time, but it is time required if you want to stay up in the rankings with the search engines where you will be found by the information seeking online community.

If you want to be effective with your online marketing then you are going to have to blog. You can't just put together a nice website with all your valuable information and beautiful pictures and expect people to fall all over themselves to get to you. You have to recognize the power the search engines have in your business and you have to give them what they want. And what they want is "fresh content".

Google loves blogs. And no matter what you think of Google, online Google is King. And what Google wants is quality, fresh content for their customers. That's why Google loves blogs.

So, back to my question - Is blogging worth the time? The answer is absolutely yes! Take the time to put together quality information on a regular basis and you set yourself up as an expert in your field. Google loves you and puts you right up front for your keyword so that people that are looking for your information finds you on your top ranked blog and recognize your expert status. As they recognize you as an expert they develop a trust in you and what you have to offer. From there it is a short leap to valued customer.

That's why every successful online entreprenuer has a blog and spends valuable time blogging on a regular basis. Do your research and get your facts right. Write what you have to say in an easy to read, friendly manner and include pertinent links to build your credibility. The search engines will do the rest.

Blissful Blogging,

#1 SEO Results

Is it really enough anymore to have that #1 position? If there's one thing that can be said about the internet community it's that no one lets moss grow under their feet!

What do I mean by that?

There is so much competition out there and a lot of bright minds! Each genius idea has a more genius idea hot on its heels. Nothing stands still on the internet, or it gets left in the dust.

But, the tried and true basics will always remain the same. No matter how the delivery changes, the who never changes.

You are still and always dealing with people. And people need to trust you to open their wallets. That will never change.

People today are getting hit by so many marketing messages they've become much more selective in how they are engaged. If a site and it's marketing strategy don't change to match where people are at they will click away and probably not come back.

The purpose of having a peice of real estate on the internet is to have someone visit, most likely to buy something. But the majority of the people who are using the internet are looking for information.

Therefore the plan needs to be to provide quality information on your site that will continue to bring your visitor back for more and more.

This is building a relationship with your visitor so that when you ask them to buy from you they trust you, and that what you have to sell them has value.

And it better have value, or you have just wasted all that time building that relationship. The trust has been broken.

So make sure what you have to offer is of real value to your visitor, or you're just shooting yourself in the foot.
