Understanding Your Visitor

If you understand that your visitor has not ended up on your web site because he wants to buy something from you then you are one step ahead of the average marketer. And with that understanding must come the realization that in order for you to bring your visitor back again and again your visitor must see you as an expert in the information they are looking for.

In other words you must be a leader.

Reveal to your visitor your innovative thinking, a fresh approach, and that you are different from all the cookie cutter marketers that are just trying to sell something and line their own pockets. Put your visitor first, meet your visitors needs, and not only will you have a visitor that will come back again and again, but one that will spread the word about your unique methods of marketing.

Now you can beat thin air in a sea of marketers, or you can get involved in a "joint venture".

Right now I have to go, but I will be back and we will talk more about "joint ventures" and in particular one that will benefit you in the specific area that you are involved in. It will help you, not just you helping it.

I will explain more later.

A Little Thing Called Work!

If anyone ever tells you it's easy to build a business on the internet, or it's a piece of cake to make money online, or there's nothing to it...blah, blah, blah - it's a flat out lie. Because it takes work to build a business; it takes work to make money; and while it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put all the pieces together, it does take time, effort, and thought to build anything of quality that will stand the test of time.

If you want an internet business to be successful in an enduring way, then it will take more than a web site with product on it. It's even going to take more than a little content that describes what you do and what you have to offer.

People are looking for answers. They don't really care what cool gizmo you may have, unless it is the answer they're looking for. Even then they might not be interested in buying from you until they look at a dozen other web sites that might have the same thing you do.

So what's going to make them come back and buy from you? You have done the work to build a relationship. You have let them know who you are and what you know and that you care that they find the information that they were looking for, regardless of whether they find the information in your product.

  • You let them know who you are by offering them an About Me page. This isn't so you can toot your horn or tell them anything more than who you are, tell them your story, your why.

  • You are going to blog and share information you don't have on your web site. You're going to share some of the information they might get if they bought your product. And you're always going to link back to your site in your blog.

  • And you are going to look for forums that you can post to. Build friendships by answering the questions that can establish your expertise.

  • You will write articles that answer the questions you get in emails and on forums and comments on your blog.

There is a lot of work to be done. And if you do the work, your business will grow. Not over-night. Not in the blink of an eye. Not a flush of weak growth that won't last. But a slow, strong, enduring growth...

So let's get to work!

Get On the Ride!

All right, I've got to share this with you because it is just too unique...You have never seen anything like it.

Content is king right? Of course it is, but how do you get it out there in a way that people will be curious about it. Because doing something different is definitely a way to get people to investigate. The internet is moving so fast, and if you aren't in the stream of moving technology you will get left behind. And playing catch-up is just no fun.

So here it is:

I promise you have not seen anything like this before. I know, I've heard that before too. But if you don't check this out, you will be missing the boat. You will be playing catch-up, and you'll be kicking yourself the whole way.

Hey, let me know what you think. Feel free to post a comment. Let everyone know what you think. It's okay...

=============="The Web's Best-Kept Traffic Secret"=========================
by Jim Edwards(c) Jim Edwards - All Rights reserved
=============== http://www.thenetreporter.com================
Did you realize that thousands of website operators use a simple technique to generate targeted visitors to their websites without paying a dime in advertising? It's true.
In fact, the technique works so well that many of them don't want you to discover how they get those thousands of website visitors and make so many sales on virtual "auto-pilot."
Their method?
Creating tightly focused articles other people publish in their ezines (online magazines and email newsletters) and post on their websites. This method rates so powerful that some even call it "the web's best kept traffic secret."
Now, you may ask, "Why would an ezine publisher or website owner publish my articles for their subscribers?"
The answer: Content!
Over a 100,000 ezines and newsletters operate on the web (along with millions of websites) covering everything from pets and cooking to investments and real estate. Many of them need tightly focused content and they simply can't produce all of it themselves.
Look at it this way... it's the same reason newspapers use the Associated Press. Individual newspapers often can't afford staff writers to cover every story, so they accept articles from outside their organization.
You can do the exact same thing for various ezines and websites catering to your niche audience!
You can get valuable publicity -- exposure you often couldn't even pay for if you wanted to -- by providing valuable, content-rich articles in exchange for a byline and a link to your website (called a "resource box")!
The following represent only a few of the enormous benefits of writing and distributing simple articles online:
** Attain "Expert" Status **
Let's face it! In the eyes of virtually everyone who reads your articles you rank as the "expert" on the subject. Just look at people who write newspaper columns. You may disagree with their viewpoints, but they still have an elevated status in your mind compared to the "average Joe"off the street.
** Pre-sell Website Visitors **
If your article appeals to a niche audience hungry for more information on a very focused subject, you actually pre-sell them better than any sales pitch. In their minds, you've already delivered content they really want so when they click over to your site you already have a "reputation" in their minds.
** Traffic Lasts Longer **
Even though the Internet changes very quickly, webmasters are usually very slow to remove content from their sites. Once you get an article posted on another person's website, you have an excellent chance of that article staying there for weeks, months, even years.
** Increase Links To Your Site **
In a recent search I found just a dozen of my articles posted on over 813 different websites! Not only do those postings bring me traffic, but they also help my search engine positioning because of my increased "Link Popularity."
** Builds Your Affiliate Base **
Fact: Affiliates always take the path of least resistance. If you provide excellent articles they can easily post on their sites or copy and paste into their ezines, your affiliates will promote you more often and more effectively compared to those who don't give them tools. Plus, as you make more sales and publish articles, other people will see you providing excellent tools and will want to sign up as your affiliate so they can use them too!
** Build a Huge "Opt-In" Email List **
You can use articles to build up a huge list of subscribers by simply compiling several articles into a series and delivering them at preset intervals. Often called a "mini-course," this technique allows you not only to prove to your subscribers that you deliver great information, but enables you to capture their name and email address so you can send them articles and special offers in the future (with their permission).
** Requires No Special Skills **
People often think they need to be a "writer" in order to publish articles, but that's not true! FACT: If you have a passion for a subject and can talk and explain things like you would to a friend over a cup of coffee, you can write articles people will love to read. So if you operate a website selling virtually any type of product or service (whether your own or as an affiliate), publishing and promoting with articles should rank high on your list of traffic generation strategies. No other method of generating targeted traffic to your website provides the quality, quantity and steadiness of traffic in such a simple, straightforward, and cost-effective manner. ----Jim Edwards is a syndicated newspaper columnist and the co-author of an amazing new ebook, "Turn Words Into Traffic," that will teach you how to use free articles to quickly drive thousands of targeted visitors to your website or affiliate link! Click=>to get this excellent book now.
There are probably ways you are already turning you words into traffic right now and you don't even know it, because sometimes it's all in the way you perceive a thing.
If you talk to friends and business associates about what you are doing and they ask for your website address or blog address so they can look at what you are doing, you just turned your words into traffic.
The act of blogging is turning your words into traffic if you use your blog to link back to your website, or an affiliate link.
If you post to forums and are able to add a link to your website as part of your signature then once again you have turned your words into traffice.
If you go the traditional route and advertise in your local paper and provide a link to your website and/or blog, there you have your words turned into traffic.
Don't put off writing articles because you think you can't write. If you have something to say that someone else wants to know about they are going to read it. If you are passionate about your topic and sincere in what you want to share then if they are interested they are going to investigate what you have to offer. If not then they are not going to convert into a sales anyway so you haven't lost a thing.
To your online success,

SEO Tools & Resources

SEO - for those of you who don't recognize it, this stands for Search Engine Optimization. For those of you who do recognize it it has meant a lot of work setting your Meta Tags, and filling your web pages with keyword rich content. But there is more to SEO than just that, a lot more.

Quality, relevant back links, links to high quality forums, and daisy chaining all your sites together so when the "google bot" finds you he finds all of you.

For those of you who have never heard of daisy chaining I will relate a childhood memory I have living on my Dad's cattle ranch in Oregon.

Daisys grew wild on my dads ranch and I spent many hours as a child picking these simple little flowers and using them in a multitude of ways in my imaginary play. One of the things I did is to make necklaces by chaining the flowers together. To do this I would use my fingernail to split the stem and I would thread the stem of another flower though it to connect the two flowers together. I would continue doing this, flower by flower until I had a "chain of flowers" long enough that when the two ends were linked together it made a fine necklace.

When I first heard the term "daisy chain" this childhood memory immediately came to mind. And essentially this is what you are doing when you daisy chain all of your websites, blogs, ads, and news releases together. Start with your main url and work your way through all your websites, blogs, ads etc linking each to the next. Then create a free web page which points to your last "daisy". Finally, write a news release which points to your free page, submit this release to Google. Google bot will then proceed to crawl through each of your links ending up at your main url. If you have done the rest of your work creating a site rich in content and quality back links you have a hit with Google.

Ultimately success on the internet is as simple as a childhood daisy chain. It takes time, perserverence and patience. But if you are faithful to provide quality information to your visitors Google will reward you, and they will come.

There is a high quality resource to help you build the backbone of your internet business. It is called SEO Elite.

Search Engine Optimization, Internet Marketing, or any sort of practical, web-related knowledge has four pillars:

  • Passive learning – through books and courses.
  • Experience – by practicing what you have learned.
  • Active Learning – interaction with other people in your field of interest, sharing knowledge and gaining from their experience.
  • Industry Support – tools that can help you do your work better.

There is a free resource you can access on my website Organic Marketing Solutions called "Search Engine Optimization Made Easy". This is an excellent ebook with top notch information from an SEO expert.

What's Happening With Email?

We have come a long way
from the pony express.
And because we have always
had a need to stay in
touch new technology has been created to help us do that easier
and faster.

With technology came new ways of staying connected - the telegraph,
the telephone, the television, the computer and email.

With the addition of each new technology has
come the new age of scam artists. Spam, scams,
and unethical marketing has taken the
technology of electronic mail into new territory.
Marketers who are trying to get their messages
read are flooding their subscriber's inboxes with duplicate emails
with the hope that at least one will make it through "the filters".

The result is marketers are sending massive amounts of email
that must be sifted through and deleted. Now, this takes a
considerable amount of time. It takes time to download your
messages, time to sort through it all and decide what you want
to keep and what you want to delete. Time to unsubscribe if you
decide you want to do that. And time to delete your deleted files.
The time it takes to manage your email these days has become
overwhelming.

But there is an answer, and I have found it.

QUICKONNEX IS THE ANSWER!

If you are a publisher you need this. If you simply want to stay in touch
without having to use email, you need this. Subscribing is free. Get your
friends and family
signed up and say good-bye to email. I know I want to
make sure the people I am
trying to stay in touch with are getting my
communication. With Quickonnex you can.

I'm sorry, I just can't believe the state of my inbox. I need to get out. How about you?

Let me know what you think...

To your sanity,

What Good is a Blog if it Doesn't Get Read

**********************************************************************************************

Blogging for Business
******************
Blogging is a great way to get your business seen in a way that people don't fee like they're being sold. You can build relationships and trust and still get your ideas and products exposed to the market you're after.
But what good is a blog if it isn't read? You put all that effort into posting and pasting but nobody ever sees it!
I just came across a great new tool. Click on the banner above and you will see what I mean.
The last time I blog surfed I got a very rude view of some womans privates parts. Needless to say I haven't surfed since. Yet, surfing is a great way to find the unexpected. It takes you out of your mind and lets the universe bring whatever it will. That is when you find the jewels.
So go surfing today and earn yourself some traffic for your blog by clicking on the banner above.

Creating Great Content

CONTENT IS KING!

In continuing with the thoughts I was sharing with you in my last post...Content is King!

There are three basic ingredients that will help build the popularity of your site with the search engines and bring you organic traffic.

  1. Keyword density
  2. Relevant links
  3. Content

We will eventually cover all three of these ingredients but for now lets focus on content, because first and foremost this is what your visitor is looking for. And in a way, the idea of content overlaps each of the other ingredients as well.

The content on your web site needs to be relevant to the product you are selling or the service you are providing. Only include information that is pertinent to your site's theme.

Your first statement needs to be bold and it needs to let your visitor know exactly what you are going to be sharing with them. You might try starting out with your conclusion. Then your reader will be curious about how or why you reach that conclusion.

KISS - Keep it short and simple. No long wordy explanations that might loose your reader as to the purpose of your statement. And no big technological terms that the reader might not recognize.

Read it outloud to yourself to hear how it reads. Make sure and proofread it for typos. Don't depend on your spellcheck.

If you simply don't have the time for all this then hire someone to do it for you. I know how busy small business owners are just keeping their business running. To do the work of marketing and to do it well is often times just not possible.

That's my purpose behind Organic Marketing Solutions . I could help you with affordable solutions.

Another solution is RSS FEED... You can actually set your site up to receive relevent content automatically. A very simple to use, affordable software that does just that is called

Provide good, fresh, consistent content and your visitor will come back and refer friends. You will be surprised at the results.

To Your Success,

Christy

Marketing Your Business with Content

The internet has always been known as the information highway. While people are going to the internet more and more to purchase items they might not be able to find locally, that which is most sought after is still information. No matter what your business site might be selling or promoting, it needs to have quality information to bring the people to visit you.

Getting someone to look at your business means inviting them to have a relationship with you. Sharing the information your visitor is looking for means they will stay and have a look and if the information is good and fresh they will come back. If the information is good and fresh when they come back then they will return again and again. In this way you are building a relationship with that visitor and they are more likely to trust you when they need your services or product. You have made a friend and friends buy from friends. Friends tell other friends about the new friend they have made and all the great information they got.

Be patient and build the relationship and the rest will come, and it will be good. I am a gardener and I understand about patience. It takes time for the seed to germinate, grow and produce fruit. But the fruit is always worth waiting for. So it is in building relationships with your web site visitors. Focus on giving your best. Use the best soil, quality fertilizer and clean, fresh water and the seed will spring forth and produce the best of fruit.

To your marketing success,

Is E-Mail Dead?

Is the current email system dead?

While the current email system is not dead it is severely damaged and without some major changes in the future the successful internet marketer will not be using it. A vast majority of the email received these days is junk. It is a huge expenditure of time taken from an already busy day. However, since there is still a small percentage of the mail that is needed the time must be spent to sort through it and find the jewels in all the garbage. The danger is in not finding the legitimate messages before the delete button is hit in haste.

The internet marketer who publishes using email needs to see that their business is at risk. The current anti-spam processes leaves the publisher very vulnerable. There is no assurance that any or all of their email is even getting delivered and if it does, one forgetful subscriber can cause the marketer's whole web business to come crashing down if that subscriber forwards their newsletter or email through anti-spam services.

The large service providers have already arbitrarily started to block email from domains that they place on their blocking lists.

Consumer Awareness:

Email is the main source of all viruses received on the internet. Spam filter and anti-spam companies will continue to effectively stop spam being delivered to the consumers computer, but at the expense of not delivering legitimate email with the consumer never knowing.

Receiving information by way of RSS feed is reliable and safe.

Quikonnex is a communications system based on the technology of weblogging, RSS (Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication), and includes a private messaging system.

To become a publisher in Quikonnex you first become a Free Member.

After that you click on an Upgrade link and pay for membership. The fee is under $20.00/month. Once payment is received the system automatically creates the publisher's channel. When they access the Member's Area their new channel will be ready to use. It takes minutes.

Solutions For Your Small In-Home Business

Does your in-home business have your going in circles, unproductive, scattered, and frustrated? Finding it hard to draw the line between what needs to get done for your business and the needs of the family? Here are some valuable tips to keep you back on track.

by Alexandria K. Brown

1. Separate Your Space.
Keep a separate, distinct work area in your home. Very important. (This is especially difficult if you're living and working in a shoebox apartment, like I was when I started my business in New York City!) If you don't have a separate room, at least define an area, and know that when you're in it, you're in "work mode."

2. Structure Your Time.
As your business and personal time mesh, it's more important than ever to structure your day. For example, if you regularly take a walk or go to the gym, try to do it every day at the same time. Value that personal appointment with yourself -- even when you're very busy. It will actually help you keep your business on track! I like to get up early and work until 1 pm, then I take a few hours off to enjoy lunch and go to the gym or jog on the beach. Then I'm back at my desk at 5:00 until who knows when!

3. Outsource All You Can.
When I began my business, I made the mistake of doing all my own administrative work. Whenever you start thinking, "Well I can just do that myself," STOP. Streamline your business, making everything as automatic as possible. Use outside services to stay focused on your *real work*. Get accounts with an overnight delivery service, messenger service, bookkeeper, etc. Save your energy for your brilliant ideas! (Learn more about hiring a virtual assistant (VA) at www.ezinequeen.com/assistanttele.htm)

4. Use Technology to Your Advantage.
In-person meetings are very valuable when appropriate, but schedule them sparingly. Try to do most of your business via phone, fax, and e-mail using the best equipment you can afford. For most home-based entrepreneurs, when you're out of the office, you're NOT making money. So it's important that you can communicate flawlessly from where you are. PLEASE do us all a favor and get separate lines/services for your phone, fax, and Internet! No one likes getting a busy signal.
Get separate phone numbers for business calls and personal calls, or ask your phone company about getting "distinctive ring". Also, voicemail is better than an answering machine, because if you're on an important call and don't want to be disturbed, other callers can still leave you a message.

5. Group Your Errands.
Try to group your meetings and errands together to minimize your out-of-office time. Make a list in the morning of all the outside tasks you need done for the day, and attempt to complete them in one fell swoop. Even better, do what I do and designate just one day a week as your "blitz" day for errands and meetings. Plus, then you only need to get dressed up one day a week! : )

6. Stay Focused.
Make your workspace off-limits to other roommates or family members when you're working. For you animal lovers, this may go for pets as well. (My cat Francine gets jealous when I'm not giving her complete attention!) Keep all personal paperwork such as bills, magazines, and to-do lists out of sight, so they won't distract you from your projects.

7. Beware of Yappers.
Many of your friends and family will be immediately delighted when they learn that you're working at home. They picture you lounging on the couch, eating potato chips, and waiting for their calls. When they call you simply to chat, politely remind them that you're working, and ask them if you can call them back after your day is over. It may take them a while, but they'll eventually get the idea.

8. Work With Your Moods.
Keep track of your moods and productivity compared with the time of day. For example, if you find you're more alert in the morning, use this time to make important calls and do your creative work. Take advantage of your natural cycles. If you feel better after an afternoon nap, go for it! (I'm a BIG proponent of the catnap. In fact, I may start a support group.)

9. Suit Yourself.
To bring out your best work, make your environment perfect for YOU. How do you work best? With plenty of breaks, or with no interruptions? In silence, or with some light music in the background? On a cushy couch and coffee table, or at a business desk in an ergonomic chair? (My friends thought I was nuts when I spent $750 on my Herman Miller Aeron chair, but they quickly understood why once they sat in it! And my spine thanks me every day.)
Also, find some places you can do work when you need a change of scenery. How about the library, the park, or your neighborhood coffee shop? When I need to do serious reading, thinking, or editing, I take my work outside to the pool or the beach. The sea air, sunshine, and soothing waves help me think much more clearly.

10. Break for People.
Feeling sluggish, lonely, or moody? Arrange for at least one social break during the week. (I aim for two or three.) Schedule breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even just coffee with a client, vendor, or friend. Join a business networking group, or sign-up for social activities such as dance class or recreational sports league. Don't go into hermit mode -- it can be self-destructive!
